The Senior BI Developer is responsible for providing BI systems services that includes developing, producing, and delivering regular and one-off/adhoc information to provide insights and aid decision-making. Services also include daily operations support to business users of Primer reporting services systems, business intelligence tools and related information management tools that would provide accessible information for decision making.
Responsibilities
- Understanding business needs and objectives in order to support the business.
- Creates and delivers standard reports, visualizations, and tools in accordance with stakeholder needs and conforming to agreed standards.
- Daily operations support to users of Primer reporting services systems, business intelligence tools and related information management tools.
- Identifies, communicates, and resolves data quality and data reconciliation issues to provide confidence for making decisions on a single version of the truth.
- Provides issue and problem resolution to clients by identifying root cause of issues and problems, researching for solutions and guiding client through corrective steps.
- Crafting and executing queries for adhoc reports as requested by clients.
- Provides training and guidance to end users in the use of the reports and tools.
- Selects and applies non-standard business intelligence tools and techniques to provide insights and aid decision-making.
- Develops data-related tools for integration of external data and data warehouse.
- Creates and improves team’s technical references by writing, contributing and maintaining documentations on the database design, job schedules, etc.
- Reviews of the benefits and value of BI techniques and tools and recommends improvements.
- Contributes to the development of policies, standards and guidelines.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in an IT-related course
- At least 4 years experience BI Developer experience
- Experience in Data handling and multi-purpose programming (SQL , Python, etc.)
- Experience in BI Technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, Qlikview/Qliksense)
