Merchandising Associate

Merchandising Associate ensures stores continue to have optimum range and stock level; Identifying growth stores for brands and growth brands for stores. Ensures improved sell through, inventory cover and aging per store. Responsible for identifying trends on replenishment styles and identifying required new styles and old styles that need to exit.

Responsibilities

Supports Merchandising Manager in maintaining effective and efficient merchandising operations ensuring distribution strategies tie in with overall merchandise strategies

Merchandise Planning and Buying

  1. Setting up and maintenance of Seasonal Store Grading;
  2. Review and maintenance of Cost to Fill;
  3. Supports Merchandising Manager through reports and analysis of key metrics for door performance, stock movement and replenishment.

Allocation and Replenishment

  1. Processes initial merchandise allocation for delivery to stores based on channel distribution plan provided by Merchandiser;
  2. Analyzes performance by store by product, taking appropriate actions to ensure stock movement and replenishment results in improved sell through, inventory cover and aging by store;
  3. Monitors upcoming deliveries and ensures allocation plans are reflective of current demand and trends;
  4. Understands what products work where and providing feedback to Brand Merchandiser for reorders, changes in ordering patterns, growth areas;
  5. Creates SKU listing in online and OMNI Channels (PUS/BIU, PUS/BSU)

Inventory Management

  1. Performs stock balancing as necessary to ensure correct inventory level and product mix per door per category considering consumer profile, market demand and corresponding styles, pricing, and sizing;
  2. Identifies growth or exit doors for brands/collections/products and implements stock increase or decrease to support strategy;
  3. Monitors sell through of collections/products at store level, aging and Reg vs MD in doors and recommends strategies to bring KPIs to profitable levels;
  4. Recommends to Brand/Merchandising slow-moving stocks needed to be moved.

Monitoring and Assessment

  1. Prepares channel/door related reports and provides the Channel Merchandising Head (or Merchandising Manager ) with KPI trends, geographical trading trends, analysis and insights for the BU/team cluster;
  2. Identifies replenishment and distribution trends and common issues for the BU/team cluster and takes appropriate action to improve.

Market Intelligence

  1. Builds on product knowledge and category expertise through familiarization with competitor and complement brands’ product ranges, pricing and positioning;
  2. Conducts regular store visits and validates flow of merchandise strategy from back-end to front-end and considers appropriate actions to improve;
  3. Builds on customer, market and competitor intelligence; establishing similarities and differences in doors per grading band, size or area.

People Management

  1. Works closely with Merchandise Head on workload of merchandise team and recommends necessary prioritization;
  2. Works with door teams and coaches them on replenishment trends and product mixes.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  1. Educational Background: Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or any related course
  2. Work Experience: New graduates are acceptable but preferably with one year work experience
  3. Certification or Licenses: Not Required
