PT Yuna Asia holds FitFlop for Fronliners event "75 Minutes for Heroes" on Indonesia's 75th year of Independence

October 29, 2020

Just as we know it, we are nowhere near the end of this pandemic, and the very people battling this for us are working endless hours and risking their lives to aid those in need.

In Indonesia, there has been a spike of COVID19 cases ever since the large-scale social restrictions (LSSR) have been lifted, which meant that more hospitals had to be turned into COVID19 centers and testing areas for suspected victims. Without a doubt, the medical staff and its doctors have been working tirelessly to face this.

To recognize medical frontliners’ efforts in battling the pandemic and to commemorate the nation’s 75th Independence Day, Fitflop Indonesia simultaneously held an event in Grand Indonesia and Pondok Indah Mall.

Customers were given two options – buy a full-priced item and a pair will automatically be donated to a frontliner on their behalf, or voluntarily walk around the mall’s premises for 75 minutes to honor our medical heroes’ sacrifices while wearing a Fitflop footwear then get it at a special price with a free pair for donation. Should they choose the latter, they must also wear either a red or white attribute to bring out the essence of celebrating the pride of Independence Day.

The first 25 participants who signed up received free pairs of Fitflop footwear, while the rest were given an exclusive discount.

Despite COVID19 still not fully contained yet, over 60 people, including some influencers, braved the situation and participated in the event just to show their support and appreciation of our modern-day heroes.

All of them, especially the first-time Fitflop users, were all smiles after walking around the Grand Indonesia and Pondok Indah Mall 2 for 75 minutes straight. They then posted their product reviews and experience on that day on social media with the hashtags: #FitflopID #75mntutkPahlawan.

A total of 50 pairs were donated to the doctors and medical frontliners in Koja Disctrict Hospital (RSUD Koja) in North Jakarta. On 31 August, the FitFlop Indonesia team visited Koja Disctrict Hospital to give our donation to Ms. Dewi, their PR Representative.

Although we were unable to thank the frontliners ourselves due to protocols, we hope that our donation meant how much we are looking up to our fearless heroes who just proves that not only those in capes are the ones who can be brave, but in this case, also those who are in their protective suits and masks.

Kudos, heroes! Semangat terus!
