Tumi, the leading international brand of premium travel, business and lifestyles accessories, celebrates its heritage of design excellence with the introduction of the TICON collection. Easily identifiable, styles in the TICON collection feature a “T” logo pattern. Distinctively different, TICON represents a modern icon for the Tumi brand.
Tumi’s heritage is synonymous with the use of ballistic nylon. This material is constructed by the interlacing of two nylon yarns side by side creating a basket weave effect. The result: a linear pattern producing a square-like grid within its weave. Directly inspired by this process and visual effect it produces, the TICON logo utilizes a double-lined “T” to create a boxed pattern design. Combining two signature elements, the identifiable “T” and the brand’s use of ballistic nylon, this graphic pattern exemplifies Tumi’s longstanding identity and heritage.
The TICON collection is comprised of best-selling styles from Tumi’s travel, business and lifestyle assortment. Styles such as the International Carry-On, Sling and Slim Flap Brief will be offered in classic black ballistic nylon and in black and brown leather. A classic Magazine Tote stands out as a highlight piece when reinterpreted in a selection of ballistic nylon colors including Marigold and Black. From travel cases to messenger bags, briefcases, totes and a selection of small leather goods, the TICON collection is stamped with the new signature of Tumi.
Tapping into the brand’s reputation for function and performance-enhanced designs, a new protective feature, ID Lock™, will be available in select bags and small accessories such as wallets and card cases. The benefit of this design element is to aid in shielding personal information encoded onto one’s identification cards or documents. ID Lock™ is identified by a subtle red detailing found on zipper pulls of internal pockets. The lining of these pockets utilizes the signature Tumi red TICON pattern, indicating this exclusive feature.
