Parkland Bags from Bottles: An Experiential Exhibit

July 11, 2019

“We only have one world to live in, so why not take care of it?”

This is among the reasons why Parkland has committed to lessen their impact on the environment, such as through creating #BagsFromBottles, as shared by Parkland’s Brand Executive Troy Mapoy in an interview with ANC’s Greenliving.

To bring the advocacy closer to more Filipinos, the brand had set up a multi-sensory exhibit that lets individuals experience the process of turning bottles into bags.

The exhibit, which ran from June 7 to 9, 2019 at the Uptown Mall Atrium in Bonifacio Global City, simulated the recycling process- from collecting bottles then shredding and turning these into threads that make up the stylish yet functional and eco-friendly bags.

A pledge wall formed part of the exhibit, where visitors could also write down their own commitment to help save the environment.

Through this initiative, Parkland hopes to encourage Filipinos to be catalysts of positive changes in the environment. As Mapoy says, “They (Filipinos) just have to be aware of what’s happening to the environment and take the first step leading to great changes.”
