Primer Group employees treated to a world-class gathering at global festival-themed Annual Get-Together

February 19, 2019

Many of the world’s festivals came together at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City last January 25, 2019 to bring joy and happiness to employees of Primer Group of Companies (KaPrimers) at the Annual Get-Together 2019.

Primer Group employees, partners, and the Board of Directors joined the festivities in their global festival costumes, in line with this year’s theme Fete de la Monde (Festivals of the World).

Festival dancers, joined by KaPrimer managers and executives, set the festive tone of the event, following the opening prayer sang by Primer Group’s Music and Dance Club.

Managing Director Jerry Sy welcomed KaPrimers to the event saying, “Salamat sa pagpunta ninyo ngayong gabi. Sana mag-enjoy kayo. This is our way of saying thank you to all of you for your hard work.

Hosted by celebrity comedienne and media personality KaladKaren Davila, the program began with the Primer’s Got Talent contest, where five groups- Retail, Shared Services, Aircond. Network Philippines Inc. (ANPI) and Stellar Equipment & Machinery, Inc. (SEMI), Union Inks & Graphics Philippines Inc. (UIGPI), and Warehouse Cooperative- showed off their world-class talents to the rest of the Primer Group community.

With a concept of bringing hope to the recently razed Marawi City in Mindanao, the Warehouse Cooperative group’s performance brought ‘wow’ to the judges’ and audiences’ faces, thus hailing the group as this year’s champion.

The annual get-together is also an avenue to recognize KaPrimers who dedicated their time and effort to the company in the past five, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years.

What KaPrimers did not expect was the guesting of a classic OPM (original Pilipino music) icon: Ely Buendia. The former Eraserheads front man rendered some of his new original works, as well as popular songs such as Ligaya, With a Smile, Superproxy, Pare Ko, Magasin, and Ang Huling El Bimbo.

Among the most anticipated parts of the program is the raffle. This year’s grand prizes include trips to Malaysia and to Taiwan, Php 33,000, and a motorcycle Yamaha YTX 125.

Finally, as the annual get-together is only one of the few times when the BODs get to spend time with employees, Primer Group President and Chief Executive Officer Jimmy Thai grasped the opportunity to thank Primer employees and rallied them towards the company’s growth and expansion.

Primer Group President and CEO Jimmy Thai calls partners on stage to acknowledge and thank them for their contribution to Primer’s growth

“In behalf of the Board of Directors, I’d like to thank all of you for being here with us tonight. Primer Group started 33 years ago, and now, we are growing. Among what the ‘P’ in our Primer logo stands for is ‘purpose’, and our purpose now is be able to provide for more than 3,500 KaPrimers, and we can do this with another ‘P’ which is ‘passion’. We have to be passionate in our work, especially now that we are expanding. Our global reach is growing, and there is constant development in our regional offices. Our e-commerce venture now is also thriving. I would also like to commend the One Industrial team for their continuous developments. Aside from these, we are also opening new doors and building new offices such as the WorkPlays. This 2019, we shall continue growing and go towards a digital Primer ecosystem. Let’s all continue dedicating our time and efforts, and together we shall succeed and be able to fulfill our purpose.”
