Overseas Filipino Workers are among the reasons why most families in the Philippines can sustain their everyday needs. Moreover, OFWs contribute to the country’s economy and growth, thus benefiting the Filipinos. Out of over a hundred million Filipinos, approximately 2.3 million of them are OFWs all around the world, according to the 2017 data of Philippine Statistics Authority.
That is why we, at Primer Group of Companies, through The Travel Club, partnered with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Habitat for Humanity for a series of trade-in sales in for the benefit of Filipino families and OFWs.
After the first trade-in held at TriNoma, Shangri-La, and Greenbelt 3 last August 16-19, over 620 pieces of luggage were turned over to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore- the organization’s home improvement charity and donation center which offers new and gently-used furniture, appliances, building materials and more to the public at lower than market value. All proceeds help Habitat for Humanity build homes, community and hope.

Thank you for your generosity and for recognizing that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Proceeds from your donation help us provide safe and decent shelter for Filipino families in need,” says Jenny Rodil of Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
Following the trade-in sale in Manila are those held in Cebu and Davao last October 25-28, and in Pampanga last November 15- 18. In Cebu alono, 389 luggage were collected, while 148 are from Pampanga, and the rest came from Davao. These luggage in good condition were turned over to OWWA for the benefit of OFWs.

Salute to all the OFWs who remain determined and strong despite all the hardships life throws at them. This is just a small act of giving back compared to all their efforts just to show their love and support for their families.
