Barangay Alas-as community leaders along with Primer Group and MakeSense PH representatives
With a vision to create more livelihood for its partner communities, Primer Group of Companies, in partnership with non-government organization MakeSense PH, has commenced the implementation of its sustainable tourism entrepreneurship program Tubong Lokal in Barangay Alas-as, San Nicholas, Batangas last October 15, 2018.
In 2017, Primer Group began supporting Barangay Alas-as through uniform donation and development of hiking trails and mandatory signs. This year, the company takes their support up a notch via a more sustainable approach.
Through a social enterprise creation program, Primer Group and MakeSense PH, along with the local government of Barangay Alas-as and Municipality of San Nicholas, aim to inspire in the residents an entrepreneurial attitude towards developing sustainable tourism in their community. The six-month program will identify volunteer-entrepreneurs who will develop the project in the long run, train them on entrepreneurship and innovation tools, and support them in the launch and implementation of the eco-tourism social enterprise. Primer Group volunteer-mentors together with a multidisciplinary team of volunteer-entrepreneurs from the community will design the prototype of the project and build the foundation of the implementation phases.

The program’s kick-off in Batangas City is just among the firsts of many ways for Primer Group to the lives of Filipino people through sustainable solutions. The company aims to scale the program to more deserving communities that have potential in the promotion of outdoor recreation and adventure tourism.
This is just the beginning of making a difference!
