Only Prime Sanitation for Primer Group of Companies

March 30, 2021

From the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic, mass hysteria and panic have spread across the country. Serious respiratory illnesses are generally spread through coughing, sneezing and touching surfaces and your own face with contaminated hands, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Because this is what causes the COVID-19 outbreak, employers and employees alike are concerned about how the virus may spread across the workplace.

Keeping the office clean and sanitized can prevent the spread of COVID-19. This brings up the question:  What has Primer done to ensure the safety of KaPrimers.

1.Mandatory Health Declaration

This ensures that only 50% of employees are allowed to work onsite. Since only 50% or less is in the office, social distancing becomes easier to maintain.

2. Daily Health Status Survey

The results of this Daily Survey are sent to our company doctor, Doc Roy (Doctor@Primergrp.com). If he finds that someone exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, the employee will be contacted and will be given a set of instructions to follow, depending on the symptoms. This means that everyone in the workplace has been screened by a medical professional before given entry to the office.

3. Trained Crew

The custodians around the office are well-trained to handle the pandemic. They are knowledgeable on how to mix chemicals and what chemicals to use in order to ensure that all traces of the virus are eliminated. Our crew comes in everyday earlier than everyone else to ensure that before a work day starts for an average employee, the workplace is already sanitized and disinfected. They, again, make rounds every 2-3 hours, and continue disinfecting.

4. Cleaners and Disinfectants

Primer also makes sure to use the most effective brands for cleaning. Oxivere, a brand that is commonly used to disinfect hospitals, was what was used by our company. When it sold out, we switched to what was highly recommended by the government. We use GK-GermKiller® as its formulas are suitable for daily use, while remaining uncompromisingly effective. We also use Lysol Disinfectant sprays, a product that was approved by the Environmental Protection Agency for use against COVID-19. This product was tested and proven to kill the coronavirus on hard surfaces.

5. Ultraviolet (UV) light

At the end of the day, every day, once everyone has left the office, our custodians stay behind and use UV lights to disinfect the premises. These lights can effectively inactivate the COVID-19 virus without having to use chemicals.

6. Fogging

Like the UV Light, fogging is usually done at night once everyone has left the office. We not only fog the buildings; we also fog the service vehicles that is used by our KaPrimers. Fogging uses an antiviral disinfectant solution which cleans and sanitizes quickly and effectively. It can kill off the virus and other biological agents in the air and on surfaces.

7. Monthly Misting

Another effective way to sanitize and kill germs is misting. Disinfectant misting uses millions of tiny droplets of disinfectant to completely sanitize an area and eliminate all germs, bacteria, virus, and pathogens. Disinfectant misting technology has evolved to effectively kill COVID-19 on or around positive spaces. Once a month, Primer hires a cleaning company to mist the whole office.

8. Extra Measures

Primer also puts out extra efforts by posting reminders, around the office and through email, about how to make sure you don’t get the virus. On top of that, Primer provided disinfectant foot trays and placed them in the entrances of all buildings to ensure KaPrimers do not bring in bacteria inside the office.

COVID 19 has indeed spread fear and worry across the nation. As we enter the new normal, we have created ways to prevent the spread of the virus. Everyone has a special role to play in protecting ourselves and those around us. With all the precautionary measures taken by Primer, together with playing our part in stopping the contraction of the Coronavirus, it is safe to say that Primer, is most definitely, a safe place to work at.
